E-MCH mobile application

1.         This policy covers the processing of personal data by UNRWA ("UNRWA""we" or "us") an autonomous subsidiary organ of the United Nations, established by the General Assembly Resolution 302 (IV) of 8 December 1949, Bayader Wadi Seer, PO Box 140157, Amman 11814, Jordan under the e-MCH Mobile application ("App") which is provided to grant you with access to the UNRWA electronic maternal and child healthcare information and to educate you on healthcare and medical issues that may affect your daily lives regarding maternal and child healthcare. The App allows you to view health-related information and clinical services and access personal health care information regarding yourself and your children. This App does not constitute the practice of any medical, nursing or other professional health care advice, diagnosis or treatment. THIS APP DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE. The contents of the App are for informational purposes only. THE CONTENT PROVIDED IN THIS APP IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE ADVICE OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL PHYSICIAN OR OTHER QUALIFIED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL. ALWAYS SEEK THE ADVICE OF YOUR PHYSICIAN OR OTHER QUALIFIED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE REGARDING A MEDICAL SYMPTOM OR A MEDICAL CONDITION. 1.1.   UNRWA is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information whilst striving to provide the very best user experience. Under the UNRWA's Regulations, Rules, Organisation Directives, Instructions and any other parts of its regulatory framework, as well as its policies and procedures (collectively, the UNRWA Regulatory Framework) and related international laws, we have a legal duty to protect the personal information we collect from you. If you have any concerns, questions or comments about this privacy policy, you can contact your health centre for any needed support. You can contact your health centre through the e-MCH App by going to the section 'Call us اتصل بنا', which enables you to contact your health centre directly by pressing the relevant phone number from the list of contacts.

1.2.   UNRWA has tools that allow you access to your health information. You are responsible for taking all reasonable steps to ensure that no unauthorized person shall have access to the App password or account. It is your sole responsibility to (a) control the disclosure and use of your activation codes and password; (b) authorize, monitor, and control access to and use of the App account and password; and (c) promptly inform UNRWA if any need to reset a password or an account arises.

1.3.   The types of personal information we collect and how we collect it: The Maternal and Child healthcare information recorded in the UNRWA e-Health system. The personal information shall become available upon registration to use this App and includes: (1) your personal profile such as your name, health centre, UNRWA registration number, and family details, (2) medical information about your pregnancy such as obstetrics history, antenatal care follow up record, risk assessment and factors relating to the pregnancy, (3) hospital remarks for the delivery such as maternal examination, delivery mode, (4) medical information after the delivery, (5) information on the newborn such as newborn assessment results, immunization dates, and (6) data on child growth such as weight and height, head circumference, etc. We will only use your information following your instructions and set out in this privacy policy and the UNRWA regulatory framework.

1.4.   How do we use the information that we collect? UNRWA will use the information on the e-Health system and in this App to provide you with your maternal and child healthcare information in current time and send you notifications and reminders about upcoming appointments and scheduled lab tests. 

1.5.   By providing us with your personal information, you consent to us: (a) processing your information as set out in this privacy policy and the UNRWA regulatory framework and in any other manner you expressly consent to; and (b) processing your sensitive personal data, such as health data (if provided).

1.6.   Using this App by logging into your account displays your data stored in your electronic medical record (EMR) within the central e-Health system will become accessible from your mobile phone. In addition, this App will give push notifications about upcoming necessary appointments regarding Maternal and Child Healthcare in the Agency's e-Health system.

1.7.   Using this App allows the App to automatically save your healthcare appointments to the calendar on your phone.

1.8.   Using this App on your mobile phone lets, you upload your questions and get answers to them while connected to the internet.

2.         To whom may we share your personal information? For example, we may use a third party to provide maintenance and develop/upgrade this App. However, they may have access to your personal information in encrypted form, if necessary, to perform their function. Still, they cannot use it or disclose it for any other purpose unless you have specifically given them consent to do so.

3.         Your information is collected and stored on the UNRWA e-Health system, located in the United Nations (UN) cloud, owned and maintained by UNRWA. In addition, we may keep your information for perpetuity as part of UNRWA beneficiaries' profiles in the Agency's healthcare system.

4.         Following our requirements under the UNRWA Regulatory Framework, we will adopt appropriate security procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to your information. UNRWA shall not be liable for any attempt to hack or crack or otherwise gain access to any part of this App, including any of your information and data.

5.         By using this App, you agree to the terms of this privacy policy. We may amend this privacy policy from time to time. If we do so, we will post an updated version on this App. The new terms will bind you upon your continued use of this App.

7.         If you have any questions about your information, including what we hold and how it is used, you can contact us or send your inquiry through the App page titled "اسأل ونحن نجيب".

8.         You are entitled to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you following the UNRWA Regulatory Framework and correcting any inaccuracies in your information. Please call your health centre for any needed support.
